This victory came as a relief, especially as Raducanu avoided the grueling task of playing two matches in a single day due to her next opponent, Magdalena Frech, withdrawing due to injury. This fortunate turn allowed her to advance to the quarter-finals, where she will face Australian wildcard Taylah Preston, an important step as she gears up for the upcoming Australian Open.
"It was an extremely challenging match. We had to deal with various conditions, and the constant interruptions made it quite tough," Raducanu reflected on her experience. "I’ve rarely had matches that kept me awake like that, so it was certainly a new challenge for me. I commend Camila for her performance; she played exceptionally well. I’m just really pleased with how I managed to turn things around today."
Raducanu’s triumph over the 82nd-ranked Osorio marks her first win since September, following her decision to cut her 2025 season short due to injury. The off-season posed additional challenges for her, as she faced what she described as "light bone bruising" in her right foot.
This match was only Raducanu's second appearance of the year, having lost to Maria Sakkari at the United Cup just weeks prior, shortly after resuming practice. Yet, her ability to overcome adversity—trailing 4-1 in the second set against Osorio—demonstrates her competitive spirit and readiness for the challenges ahead.
